I have over twenty years’ experience as a colourist and editor, beginning on the Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers and The Return of the King in Aotearoa, and spanning several years in Hollywood.
In Los Angeles I worked as a colourist at Laser Pacific, alongside my mentor Dave Cole (HPA winner The Batman, Life of Pi). I continued as a finishing colourist for Laser and Technicolor Hollywood for six years working on features such as TRON Legacy, Life of Pi, Iron Man 3, Thor: The Dark World, and Captain America: A Winters Soldier. During this time, I had the privilege of working with some of the world’s top cinematographers, and the industry’s most renowned colourists.
On my return to Te Whanganui-a-Tara, I worked at Park Road Post for eight years, enjoying a variety of work and taking on the role of onset colourist and supervising colourist on Mortal Engines. My recent work includes X, Pearl, Our Flag Means Death and Time Bandits. I currently freelance for various post houses across Aotearoa and from my own grading suite.
I am passionate about supporting the film community and have enjoyed contributing as a judge for the NZ documentary competition Pitch Fest and the Roxy5 Short Film Competition for children and young people.
I want to empower film makers with the knowledge of what final colour can do, from elevating small budget films to developing rich colour palettes to tell your story. I enjoy the collaborative process of bringing your vision to the screen.
Whatever your project I would love to help. Feel free to get in touch even if it’s just for a chat.
